All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them. We all have different goals and priorities, which means that different activities and attitudes make us feel good about ourselves. To be successful is to understand what is important to you. It is, to recognize your weaknesses without hiding behind them, to strive for balance as well as open new doors in life.

Each person’s definition of success is different, however, as some may define success as being a loving, faithful, caring and responsible person, while most people would equate success with wealth, fame, and power.

Although success can be achieved, it does not come easy. It’s well said, “Every block of stone has a statue inside it. It is the task of the sculptor to discover it”. If you really want to be successful, then you should have a solid understanding of certain concepts that can limit your potential, making you unsuccessful, along with also those that can enhance your potential. People plunge into false beliefs and get affected by external factors. False beliefs act as limiters to your true potential and so to your success. The person with internal locus of control does not claim that the world is a rosy place as he knows that things might be unfair sometimes but instead he focuses on solutions that he can come up with, rather than blaming other factors for his failures.

Getting rid of false beliefs and external factors is the most important task that you should do if you are serious about success. Those who are successful in life have three things in common: focus, persistence and patience. They simply do not quit chasing their goals. Personal success supports and reinforces professional success. Professional success reinforces personal success. And together, they reinforce life’s most important pursuit — happiness.

Being in the right place at the right time often makes a big difference – that is why you should be willing to try and try again, learning how to endure failure.

You must find your own “element,” your passion– the right field of study, the right occupation, sport or activity that matches your inner strengths and capabilities — which you might or might not even know you possess. Hard work and success go hand in hand because life is designed to be tough. Nothing is offered on a silver platter; which means that people have to keep trying to succeed. Just get your priorities right; use your resources wisely; stay focused and don’t be greedy. As the old saying says, The early bird catches the worm. To catch the worm that is success, you need to be the early bird.

The price of success is hard work, dedication to the job at hand, and the determination that whether we win or lose, we have applied the best of ourselves to the task at hand.

“Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.”
