Jhabua is a district situated 150 kms from Indore and 190 kms from vadodara (Gujarat). Jhabua District is sharing border with Gujarat State to the west and Rajasthan State to the North.

Jhabua city is famous for its black cotton soil commonly known as “White Gold”. It is known for its unique vibrant tribal culture, handicrafts, and natural beauty. It is home to several indigenous tribes, including the Bhils, who are known for their unique and colorful attire, dance forms, and festivals. The town is also famous for its textiles, including traditional handicrafts, such as pottery, bamboo crafts, and metal crafts.

Jhabua is also known for the Bhagoria festival, a colorful tribal festival that takes place in March around Holi. The district has got international recognition because of its endemic hen species “kadaknath”. It has been granted the GI tag.

Famous dish of Jhabua is Dal Paniya- prepared from corn flour and is roasted on charcoal after sandwiching it between the leaves of palash tree.

FROM INDORE

The distance is 150 kms. Highway NH 47 connects Indore to Jhabua. The journey from Indore to Jhabua is smoothly covered by a bus in 3 hours. The Buses are available from Chartered Office, Bus Depot, 30, Residency Area AICTSL Campus Indore and Gangwal Bus stand, MIG lines, Scheme no. 71, Indore.

FROM VADODARA

The distance is 190 kms. Highway NH 47 connects Vadodara to Jhabua. The journey takes around 3 to 3.5 hours by bus. The Buses are available from the Central Bus Stand.
